Questions & answers

  • How much sodium is in a scoop? Does it taste salty?

    Asked by Paul E. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

Each scoop has 100 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, 20 mg magnesium and 40 mg calcium, plus seven B vitamins at 33% of the Daily Value each. It's a lighter-sodium mix, so most people find it doesn't taste salty.

  • What is it sweetened with? Is there any sugar?

    Asked by Monica S. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

It's sweetened with sucralose. Each scoop is 10 calories and 2 g of total carbohydrates, and the label doesn't list any sugars.

  • Does it have caffeine?

    Asked by Trent B. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

No. Besides the electrolytes and B vitamins on the panel, the ingredients are polydextrose, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, calcium silicate and beta carotene for color. There's no caffeine.

  • How many scoops can I have in a day, and how long does a tub last?

    Asked by Alyssa F. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

One scoop goes in 14–20 oz of water, or two scoops in 28–40 oz for a big bottle. The label says not to exceed 5 scoops in 24 hours. Each tub holds 30 scoops, so it lasts a month at one a day.

  • Is it okay during pregnancy? And can my kids drink it after soccer?

    Asked by Erin M. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

The label asks you to consult a physician before use if you're pregnant, nursing or taking any medication, and it isn't intended for people with a medical condition. For kids, please ask their pediatrician first; the label also says to keep it out of reach of children.

  • Any allergens? I have a tree nut allergy.

    Asked by Sam K. ·

    Answered by The Nutriens team

The ingredient list has no milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy or sesame, but it's made in a facility that also handles all of those. With a serious allergy, please check with your doctor before trying it.

Tastes like real lemonade, and I drink more water now

I run at 5:30 before the Tucson heat gets going, and by July I was coming home completely wiped. Now I mix one scoop into a 20 oz bottle the night before and leave it in the fridge, so it's waiting when I walk in. It tastes like lemonade made with real lemons, just less sweet, and it isn't salty at all like the packets my running group swears by.

The surprise is that I drink more water in general because I actually want to. 10 calories a bottle instead of the 140 in the sports drink I used to buy by the case. Lemonade is my favorite, Peach Mango is a close second.

Bottle in the fridge the night before is a great system, Elena. Thanks for sharing it.

    Lychee!!

Tastes like the lychee jelly cups I grew up with, minus the syrup. Already ordered a second tub.

Great on the trail, wish it came in packets

Took it on a 3-day trip in the Smokies. Passion fruit is bright and a little tart, really good cold and still fine at creek temperature. I pre-scooped servings into small zip bags since there are no single-serve packets, which worked but was messy. Single-serve sticks would make this 5 stars for me.

    My afternoon tumbler

Peach mango in a big tumbler with a lot of ice is my 3pm thing now. Not too sweet if you go the full 20 oz. Honestly drinking more water than I have in years.

In my carry-on for every work trip

I fly for work twice a month. I keep a few scoops in a small container, fill a bottle after security and mix one in. I land feeling a lot less dried out than I used to, and the lemonade is the least airport-tasting thing I drink all day. Subscribed so I never run out before a trip.

Good flavor, not enough sodium for my long rides

The lychee is unique and tastes good. But at 100 mg of sodium a scoop it's much lighter than what I'm used to for long rides in the heat. I sweat a ton and end up adding a pinch of salt to my bottle. Great as an everyday drink, just not enough on its own for 3 hours at 105 degrees.

    Flavor: Lychee

    Reply from the Nutriens team

Thanks, Jared, that's a fair read of the label. Each scoop carries 100 mg sodium and 200 mg potassium, made as an everyday drink you'll want to finish rather than a high-salt mix. For big bottles the label allows two scoops in 28–40 oz, up to 5 scoops in 24 hours. If it still isn't the right fit for your rides, message us through our contact page within 30 days and our guarantee covers it. The Nutriens team

    Like peach rings, but lighter

The morning after my cousin's wedding (long night) a big glass of Peach Mango was the only thing I wanted to drink. Tastes like peach ring candy without being heavy. Keeping a tub at home and one at work.

Perfect at 20 oz, sweet at 14

At 14 oz it's sweeter than I like, at 20 oz it's perfect. I can taste the sweetener a little at the very end, which is the only reason it's 4 stars. Mixes instantly with a few shakes.

Not for me, the aftertaste lingered

I try to stay away from sucralose and didn't read the label closely before ordering, so that part's on me. The passion fruit flavor itself is nice and it mixed fine, but the aftertaste stuck around for me. Won't reorder.

    Flavor: Passion Fruit

    Reply from the Nutriens team

Thank you for the honest review, Bethany. You're right that Hydration Strength is sweetened with sucralose, and we'd rather you have something you enjoy than finish a tub you don't. Message us through our contact page with your order number and our 30-day guarantee will refund you. The Nutriens team

Tried all four, here's my ranking

    1. Lychee 2. Peach Mango 3. Lemonade 4. Passion Fruit. Honestly they're all good and none of them taste salty, lychee is just different from every other electrolyte out there. Passion fruit is the most tart, lemonade the most classic. I mix one scoop in my 20 oz bottle at my desk every afternoon.

In the cooler every tournament Saturday

I coach a 12U softball team and we're at tournaments most Saturdays this spring. I mix a jug of Peach Mango for me and the other coaches (not the kids) and it's gone by the second game. Tastes way better than the neon stuff at the concession stand.

    Love it, goes fast

30 scoops goes quickly when I have one in the morning and another after the gym. Taste is excellent and it dissolves all the way, no film on top. At about $1.17 a scoop it adds up, so I'm glad subscribe and save takes 10% off.

Peach Mango is a little candy-like for me. My husband loves it, I prefer the Lemonade. Both mix instantly and neither tastes salty. Reordering Lemonade next time.

Finally finishing my water bottle in winter

Radiator heat all winter and I never drink enough. One scoop of Passion Fruit in my bottle in the morning and I actually finish it, then refill. Tart, not sugary, not salty.

    Flavor: Passion Fruit

    Reply from the Nutriens team

Tart, not sugary, not salty is exactly the goal. Thank you, Diego.
