My evenings finally feel like evenings

I teach middle school and I'd get home wound up and stay that way until midnight. Now I take my three capsules right after dinner, around 7, and by the time the dishes are done I actually feel ready to wind down. Falling asleep is easier on the nights I take it, too. I tried magnesium citrate last year and it was rough on my stomach. This glycinate has been zero problems. Six weeks in and it's the one supplement I haven't skipped a single day.

Falling asleep is easier on the nights I need it

I don't take it every night, just when my brain won't shut off before a big day. Two capsules about 25 minutes before bed with a glass of water, phone in the other room, and I fall asleep so much sooner than I would otherwise. I take a daily medication, so I checked with my doctor before starting and got the okay. I wake up feeling normal, not foggy, as long as I give myself a full night. A bottle lasts me well over a month since I only use it a few nights a week.

Phone in the other room is the underrated step. Thanks, Robin.

Questions

What’s the difference between Magnesium Foundation and Rest Balance?
Magnesium Foundation is 275 mg of magnesium from magnesium glycinate and nothing else active: no melatonin. Rest Balance is 10 mg of melatonin with a 905 mg blend of herbs and amino acids, taken 20–30 minutes before bed.
Can I take both?
Yes, that’s the Sleep Pair, and it ships free. Ask your doctor before Rest Balance, and skip other melatonin products while you take it.
Should I ask my doctor first?
For Rest Balance, yes, especially if you take medication: it contains St. John’s wort, 5-HTP, L-tryptophan and ashwagandha. For Magnesium Foundation, ask if you’re pregnant, nursing or have a medical condition, as the label says.
